Chairman of New World Opera Company, Principal of New World Music and Dance School, opera performer, and vocal teacher
As an opera performer, Mr. Wan Bingchuan has played significant roles in numerous renowned operas, including Ahhei in “Ashima”, the angel in Mozart’s opera “The Manager of the Opera House”, Hoffmann in Offenbach’s opera “Tales of Hoffmann”, Count Tassilo in the Hungarian composer Emerich Kalmann’s operetta “The Countess of Maritza”, and Ah Niu in the Chinese opera “Liu Sanjie”. Prior to these roles, Mr. Wan collaborated with prestigious orchestras such as the China Philharmonic Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, and the China National Opera House Symphony Orchestra, participating in numerous opera productions.
In addition to opera performances, since 2018, Mr. Wan has successfully hosted numerous concerts. He has also served as a solo guest artist for several important concerts, including the 2022 New World Opera Nara Park Concert, the 40th Anniversary Celebration Concert of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and the United States, the “Cheers to Our Motherland” Concert at Jordan Hall of the New England Conservatory of Music, the Carnegie Hall Concert in New York, and the Zigen Foundation Charity Concert, among others.
In addition to his active performing career, Mr. Wan is also dedicated to vocal music education. In 2018, he founded his own vocal music studio in Boston. In 2020, he and his wife, soprano Huang Jingyi, jointly established the New World Opera Company in Massachusetts. He has hosted vocal master classes and monthly live vocal music lectures, reaching vocal music enthusiasts in Massachusetts and across North America. Mr. Wan has also served as a vocal music judge for several well-known competitions, including the International Music Competition of the Golden Peony Arts Festival in the United States, the Global Elite Talent Competition in New York, and the “The Voice of China” New York regional competition. Furthermore, Mr. Wan actively participates in community activities, having served as the vocal music director for the regional Miss Tourism International beauty pageant in Boston and as the principal of the Brookline Chinese School in Boston. Due to his outstanding contributions to personal achievement and community music development, his story has been reported by mainstream media outlets such as Sing Tao Daily, World Journal, Yahoo, Tencent, and Sina.
