Jingyi Huang, hailed as the “Voice of the Heavens” by Sing Tao Daily, is a classical solo vocalist, opera performer, and vocal teacher.
As an opera singer, Ms. Huang has played pivotal roles in numerous operas, including Countess Gretel in Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro”, Olympia in Offenbach’s “Tales of Hoffmann”, Countess Mariza in the Hungarian composer Emeric Karman’s operetta “Madame Mariza”, and Sister Yang in the Chinese opera “Jiang Jie” performed by the Shanghai Opera House. Prior to playing these roles, Ms. Huang had also participated in many opera performances with the China Philharmonic Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, and Hong Kong Symphony Orchestra. In addition to opera performances, Ms. Huang was also a soloist at the Leonard Bernstein Centennial Concert at the Natick Center for the Arts in Boston. She also participated in the Concert for the Winners of the American Vocal Competition held at Carnegie Hall in New York, as well as the Concert for the Winners of the New York Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition. Ms. Huang has received numerous honors in various music competitions. In 2019, she won first prize at the New York Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition, the Salzburg International Music Competition, and the Amsterdam International Grand Prix Masters.
While actively participating in singing performances, Ms. Huang is also committed to vocal music education. Her students have won awards in numerous American and international competitions. In 2020, Ms. Huang and her husband Wan Bingchuan co-founded New World Opera LLC, located in Massachusetts. Born in Chengdu, China, Ms. Huang obtained a Master’s degree in vocal performance and an opera artist diploma from the Longyi Conservatory of Music. She graduated from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, earning a Master’s degree in vocal performance in 2009. In China, Ms. Huang was an opera singer at the Shanghai Opera House and the China National Opera and Dance Drama Theater. Due to her outstanding personal artistic achievements, she has been reported and interviewed by Sing Tao Daily, World Journal, and Yangzi Evening News, with many media outlets reprinting her reports, such as Sina, Yahoo, Sohu, and Tencent
